Sanmi-Ittai Ninja is a single cask Japanese blended malt whisky, brought to you by indy bottler Jack Tar. The Sanmi-Ittai Range consists of 6 different bottles that are drawn from two different casks in which the blend matured further. All have classic Japanese warriors and sumo wrestlers on the labels, in this case a Shiko. Under each label, only 90 bottles were released, which makes it a unique collector’s set. And we are saving the best piece of information for last, as famed Hanyu whisky is at the base of this Sanmi-Ittai blend! Hanyu was once a lively but now silent Japanese distillery that distilled their own whiskies from 19080 until 2000. The remaining stock, which was acquired by Chichibu founder Ichiro Akuto, is as good as gone. Sanmi-Ittai is a Japanese translation of the Latin word Trinitas. This is a reference to the three founders of Hanyu in 1946.
