The Savanna distillery in the French overseas department of Réunion has been hand-crafting rare rums since 1870. The distillery was originally located in Saint-Paul, on the west coast of the island. In 1992, it was moved to the site of the Bois-Rouge sugar factory on the north-east of the island. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this event, Savanna has released a limited edition of their rhum agricole. Blended from just six carefully hand-picked barrels, Savanna Edition Bois Rouge 1992-2022 is an intense rum with aromas of fresh cane, mint, tropical fruits and subtly spiced vanilla on the nose. The palate is lively, smooth and spicy. Just 3200 bottles were released at an ABV of 57%.
