Springbank 12 Years Old Cask Strength is a 12-year-old single malt from the Campbeltown distillery Springbank, introduced in 2010 and released two times a year. Batch 19 matured in 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks, and was bottled in August 2019 at a cask strength of 57.1%. Springbank is one of the three remaining distilleries in Campbeltown, which was once one of the most prolific whisky distilling areas of Scotland. It was founded in 1828 by the Mitchell family, who had been living in the region since the 17th century. Descendants of the Mitchell family still own the distillery today, making Springbank the oldest family-owned distillery in Scotland.
