Springbank 14 Years Old Cask Strength is a special release of Springbank single malt. It was bottled for the release of Hans Offringa’s Whisky & Jazz, a book combining jazz musicians with whiskies. The whisky matured for 14 years in a cream sherry butt and was bottled in 2010 at a cask strength of 56%. The Springbank distillery was founded in 1828 by the Mitchell family, who had been living in the region since the 17th century. It is one of the three remaining distilleries in Campbeltown, which was once one of the most prolific whisky distilling areas of Scotland. Descendants of the Mitchell family still own the distillery today, making Springbank the oldest family-owned distillery in Scotland! Only 600 bottles of Springbank 14 Years Old Cask Strength have been released.
