It was made available only for Springbank Society members, so unless you were in this club it was very unlikely that you’d get your hands on one. Luckily Must Have Malts has, but it’s super rare so it won’t be around for long. Springbank 28 Years Old Selected For The Springbank Society 20cl was aged for an extraordinary 28 years! It was aged in a combination of Sherry Hogsheads, Sherry Butts, Bourbon Barrels and Rum Barrels which makes for an exceptionally complex dram. It has a nose of tropical fruits, honey, baked apples and bacon with a little touch of brine. The palate shows dry oak with the baked apples returning. This is combined with pepper, wet soil, dark chocolate, fruitcake and licorice. The finish is very complex with salted caramel, banana, damp earth, straw and a splash of salty seaside air.
