Cadenhead’s Authentic Collection is a great independent bottling series that showcases top notch rare whiskies. Launched in 1991, the range features bottlings from single casks, bottled at cask strength with no artificial colourings or chill filtration. These bottlings aren’t mass produced so each one is a limited release unique gem. Springbank 8 Years Old Cadenhead Authentic Collection 1985 is a beautiful vintage bottling from Springbank, distilled in 1985 and bottled in 1994. The first reference to Campbeltown whisky goes all the way back to 1591! For the next few hundred years illegal whisky distilling was rife but in 1828 Archibald Mitchell founded his (legal) Springbank distillery right on the site of an illegal still. It’s no wonder Springbank has such a well deserved reputation as one of the finest Scottish distilleries, they’ve had hundreds of years of practice.
