Springbank 8 Years Old Local Barley 2025 Edition

Springbank 8 Years Old Local Barley 2025 Edition is an annual release of Campbeltown single malt that is distilled from barley grown on the Kintyre Peninsula within a few miles of Springbank. The barley is then malted on the distillery’s own malt floors using traditional production techniques before it is turned into spirit, matured into whisky and bottled on-site. This 2025 edition was made with Bere Barley from the High Ranachan farm. The single malt was distilled in July 2016 and matured for 8 years in 50% bourbon and 50% sherry casks. It was bottled in December 2024 at 58.1%. Springbank 8 Years Old Local Barley 2025 Edition has aromas of cracked black pepper, cigar box and sage. There are notes of shortbread and salted caramel on the palate, along with a herbal, basil note. The finish is long and sweet with a hint of toffee. One of 13,500 bottles.
