From the Gordon and Macphail ‘Rare Old’ series, this 1982 St. Magdalene is a real beauty. A very old vintage 1982 single malt whisky from a Lowlands distillery that closed its distillery in near forgotten times (or exactly one year after this specific release was distilled, in 1983). It was bottled in 2001, making it 19 years old. The St. Magdalene distillery was situated in the old town of Linlithgow (fun fact: a leper colony was very close by in medieval times). Today, the distillery building still stands, but as studio apartments. On outside it still looks like the old distillery, so the memory of the distillery lasts in bricks and in very good single malt whisky.
