The theme for the 2022 edition of La Maison du Whisky’s celebrated Artist range is Antipodes, a scientific term for direct opposites. For the first time this year, a complete collection has been dedicated to a single distillery: Strathisla, the oldest continuously operating distillery in Speyside. Strathisla is best known for producing the malt that is at the heart of all Chivas Regal blends—so, in contrast, the Artist #12 collection features five cask strength single casks whiskies from the distillery. The black and white photographs on the labels, made by the young artist Mathéo Modol, show different parts of the picturesque distillery. Strathisla 20 Years Old Artist #12 2002 matured for 20 years in first-fill bourbon barrel #27057, and is bottled at 55.4%. The label features a close-up of Strathisla’s still house. One of just 192 bottles.
