This 55-year-old Strathisla single malt was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Licensed Bottling series. Let’s repeat that: 55 year old single malt whisky. Oh my! The Licensed Bottling series celebrates the long-standing relationship Gordon & MacPhail has with many Scottish distilleries and showcases historical label designs. In the mid-20th century, the majority of a distillery’s production was used in blends. Back then, Gordon & MacPhail produced the only official single malt bottlings for these distilleries. The whisky was distilled in November 1957 and matured in sherry butt #1719 for 55 years. It was bottled in June 2014 at 43%. Only 364 bottles of Strathisla 1957-2013 Gordon & MacPhail have been released. Due to the size of this magnificent whisky and box, it takes up two spaces in a parcel.
