Talisker is the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye. The distillery first introduced its 25-year-old single malt in 2001 as part of the Diageo Special Releases. It was released again in 2004 and has been appearing annually from then on. Since 2011, the expression is bottled at a standard strength of 45.8%. The 2013 edition of this super premium whisky starts slow, sweet and gentle, with balancing acidity and saltiness, then bursts into life with a minerally, toasty then peppery character that leads to a long, drying and warming finish. Only 5772 bottles of the Talisker 25 Years Old 2013 have been released.
