Located on the shores of Loch Harport, Talisker is the only distillery on the rugged and windswept Isle of Skye. This Talisker 30 Years Old is a limited release of only 3912 bottled in 2015. An interesting feature of Talisker’s production are its swan neck lye pipes. These pipes contain a loop which directs vapour from the stills to the worm tubs where it cools, runs back into the stills and is distilled again. The rugged coastline lends the nose of the Talisker 30 Years Old a sea breeze hint which combines with a slight smokiness and red fruits. This develops into a sweet combination of ripe berries, pepper and spice. A last touch of smoke and salt rounds out the finish.
