Talisker Distillers Edition 2006 is a delicious double matured whisky from Talisker, released as part of the award-winning Distillers Edition range. The single malt was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2006 at 45.8%. It has been finished in Amoroso sherry wood for a brilliant, bitter-sweet harmony of tastes. The familiar sweet smokiness of Talisker smooths out to rich, sweet, juicy fruit. The nose is extremely sharp and well-focused, with a sultana sweetness. The peat softens to enormous richness in the mouth, then wafts around the palate with sweet, roasted malt and a heathery dryness. The finish shows deep cocoa notes, magnificent vanilla and lingering, earthy peat.
