In March 2022, the Speyside distillery Tamdhu added an 18-year-old single malt to its core range. This limited-edition inaugural release aged for 18 years in the finest Oloroso sherry casks, giving the whisky a deep copper hue and rich, complex taste. Tamdhu 18 Years Old Limited Release has dry nutty sherry aromas on the nose joined by cherry, milk chocolate, rum raisin, citrus, baked oats and plum. The palate is mouthcoating with rich sherry notes, sweet vanilla, brown sugar, red apple and dried fruits. The whisky is long and warming on the finish, with lingering dried apricot, dates, soft spices and stewed apple.
