Back in the 1780s in the heart of old Dublin town was a very special area of the city known as the Golden Triangle. Why was this area so special? Because that’s where most of the city’s distilleries were located. Teeling was one of them and today Teeling is still operated by the Teeling family. Jack and Stephen Teeling began a new chapter in this long history when they opened the new distillery in 2015, just a stone’s throw from where the original one was in 1782. The Renaissance series is a celebration of this rebirth of Irish Whiskey. Teeling 18 Years Old Renaissance #3 Muscat is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Muscat casks for 18 years resulting in rich and rewarding drop. The nose has aromas of red apple, peach and mango with whiffs of vanilla and barley as well. The palate is a rich mixture of stewed plums spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, cedar, mint and caramel. The finish has a refined dried fruit and malt character with a hint of peanut.
