Teeling 21 Years Old Rising Reserve No. 1

Dublin used to be a whiskey capital, at one point being home to nearly 40 distilleries. When the last Dublin distillery closed in 1976, the whiskey industry in the city remained silent for decades. Teeling, established in 2015 by the brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling, is the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years. To celebrate the return of distillation to Ireland’s capital, Teeling has created the Rising Reserve, made up of hand-selected casks chosen from reserves of Teeling’s very best and oldest single malt. Teeling 21 Years Old Rising Reserve No. 1 is the first release in this new series. The whiskey initially aged in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a finish in high quality Carcavelos casks. On the nose, you are greeted by aromas of green apples, honeyed citrus and candyfloss. The palate reveals rich flavours of stewed fruits with caramel, wood tannins and cinnamon spice, leading to a long finish of oak and rich roasted cacao.
