Teeling have been at the forefront of Irish Whiskey production since 2015 when they built the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years. Continuing that tradition of innovation they have released the first in a new series of Pot Still whiskeys – Teeling Pot Still Wonders of Wood #1. By combining the traditional pot still method of whiskey-making with maturation in unique styles of wood they are pushing Irish whiskey to new heights and new flavours. Teeling Pot Still Wonders of Wood #1 is made from a recipe of 50% barley and 50% unmalted barley. It is triple distilled then aged in virgin Chinkapin American White Oak barrels. The nose is sweet toffee, butterscotch, caramel biscuits and then a touch of wood tannins. The palate has flavours of banana bread and ginger with a rich, creamy mouthfeel. The finish is woodspice, dark chocolate and a bit of black pepper.
