The Shinobu Distillery is located in the Niigata region on the main island of Japan. It was founded in 2017 by Ken Usami, who previously also founded a craft beer brewery. While the distillery’s own production is getting started, Mr. Usami experiments with blending whiskies from around the world and finishing them in Mizunara casks, a premium Japanese oak that has been used by distillers since the 1930s. This bottle of Shinobu Pure Malt was first matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, and finished in Mizunara oak, having matured for 10 years in total.

Safe packing
