This 19 year old Tullibardine 1987 John Black’s Selection is bottled at a strong 57.2% for a good, old fashioned ‘oomph’. At 19 years old, you can expect a whisky that has come of age for sure. The Tullibardine distillery was founded in 1949. The site where it is currently still making whisky (at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Perthshire, where the Highlands begin) used to be the grounds of an old brewery, which is believed to be the brewery that made ale for the coronation of King James IV’s in 1488, would you believe that? One of 284 bottles.
