Ukiyo Ghibli Japanese Whisky is a limited-edition Japanese rice whisky from the Kumesen Shuzo distillery in Okinawa, created in collaboration with the famous Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli, known for iconic movies such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. The box design and artwork were created by Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki, the founders of Studio Ghibli. The bottle features a stylised drawing of Totoro in the style of an inei, a traditional seal that Japanese artists may use in place of their signature. Ukiyo Ghibli Japanese Whisky matured in American white oak casks and was bottled in 2023 at 50%. The whisky has a smoky and spicy flavour, with hints of banana, spearmint, cinnamon and bitter chocolate.
