Unnamed Orkney 16 Years Old The Ultimate 2006 is a mysterious single malt from an unnamed distillery on the Orkney Islands, released by independent bottler van Wees for the acclaimed The Ultimate range. The whisky was distilled on 14 February 2006 and aged for 16 years in a single refill sherry butt. It was then bottled in August 2022 at 46% ABV. The nose brings aromas of dried fruits, heather honey, old leather and light peat smoke, as well as some floral hints. The palate is full and round with notes of dried fruits, honey, chocolate, pepper and oak, leading to a long and soft finish of dark chocolate, honey and peat smoke.
