Whistlepig Bottled in Barn Farmstock Rye Crop 001 marks a milestone in Whistlepig’s journey to 100% farm-to-bottle whiskey: this release is the first expression to contain whiskey produced at the farm distillery itself. FarmStock is a blend of one-year-old rye from Whistlepig in Vermont, five-year-old rye from Alberta Distillers in Canada, and 12-year-old rye from MGP in Indiana. The first batch was bottled in 2017 at 86 proof. Whistlepig Bottled in Barn Farmstock Rye Crop 001 beautifully combines the boldness of young whiskey with the richness and splendor of the older ryes. On the nose you’ll find aromas of oak, vanilla, caramel, toffee, and mint. The palate has notes of caramel, cinnamon, baking spices, citrus, and stone fruits, leading to a complex and enduring finish with hints of winter fruits, dark chocolate, tobacco, butterscotch, and vanilla.
