This is a bottle containing 70 proof Horse Power, which translates 40% ABV. Made by White Horse Distillers Ltd. Glasgow and London, once one of the largest whisky companies in Scotland. The brand was created in 1861 by James Logan Mackie, and later expanded by his nephew Peter Mackie. White Horse is particularly noted for its close connection to the Lagavulin distillery, whose malt is at the heart of this blend. This bottle comes with a white screw cap, that was introduced in the early 1960s and largly replaced the spring cap. We estimate this bottle to be an early 70s edition.
