An old bottle of the classic Wild Turkey 101, exported for the Italian market in the 1990s. The Wild Turkey brand was created after an Austin Nichols executive, Thomas McCarthy, brought some bourbon from the warehouse with him on a wild turkey hunting trip in 1940. It was so popular among his friends that they kept asking him for ‘that wild turkey bourbon’. The first Wild Turkey 101 was introduced less than two years later, in 1942.
