Around 1992, Wild Turkey started releasing 1855 Reserve for foreign markets (mainly Japan). Like its domestic relative, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, 1855 Reserve is a blend of 6, 8, and 12-year-old bourbon bottled at a barrel proof of 108.8. For some reason, the label reads ‘From the Makers of Wild Turkey’ instead of directly naming it a Wild Turkey bourbon. The label on the back refers to the legendary Wild Turkey Master Distiller Jimmy Russell. But… it’s spelled as Jim Russell? A strange bird indeed, but an amazing collectible for any Wild Turkey fan. This 375ml edition is Batch W-T-10-96, bottled in 1996.
