Wild Turkey was created after Thomas McCarthy, an executive for bourbon wholesaler Austin Nichols, brought some warehouse samples with him on a wild turkey hunting trip. The bourbon was so popular among his friends that they continued to ask him for ‘that wild turkey bourbon’. The first Wild Turkey 101 was introduced in 1942. Wild Turkey 8 Years Old 101 Proof 1995 is a dusty bottling of this classic bourbon.
