A small-batch release of Family Estate Rye from the Willett Distillery. It matured in white oak barrels for four years before being bottled at a cask strength of 56.4%. The Willett family has been in the whiskey business since the 19th century. In 1936 they established their own distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. During the energy crisis of the 1970s the company switched to producing ethanol for fuel, but fuel prices quickly dropped and the distillery was shut down. For many years afterwards the company produced bourbon from their old inventory and sourced bourbon from other distilleries. In the early 2010s, the distillery was completely renovated and started distilling its own whiskey again for the first time in over 30 years.
