Willett 6 Years Old Family Estate Rye 2019 Single Barrel #3654

La Maison du Whisky’s 2027 collection Anthologists features four distinct single cask bottlings from the family-owned Willett Distillery. The distillery was founded in 1936 by Thompson Willett in Bardstown, the bourbon capital of the world. After falling silent towards the end of the 20th century, Willett was revived by Martha Willett, granddaughter of the founder, and her husband Even Kulsveen in the early 2010s. Willett’s strong, uncompromising identity is a reminder that in the heart of the world’s bourbon capital, the artisanal spirit remains very much alive. Willett 6 Years Old Family Estate Rye 2019 Single Barrel #3654 has been crafted from a mash bill of 51% rye, 34% corn, and 15% malted barley. The low-rye whiskey aged for 6 years in a hand-selected white oak barrel, resulting in a lively character with lots of fruits, chocolate, beeswax, candied ginger and praline. The flavors then evolve towards autumnal tones and dried fruits. The rye whiskey is bottled at 60.2% ABV and saw a limited release of 182 bottles.
