The California-based premium Wolves Whiskey brand was created in 2017, by entrepreneurs Jon Buscemi and James Bond (no, not that one), and quickly garnered a dedicated following. Willett The Wolves Rye Project Volume One Batch 2, is a special blend of straight rye whiskeys produced in collaboration with Willett Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen. The blend consists of low-content (51%) rye whiskey from an undisclosed distillery in Indiana, aged for 6 years, blended with 6- and 7-year-old whiskeys, with a 74% rye content from Willett. Batch 2 was bottled in May 2022, at a cask strength of 57.35%. Willett The Wolves Rye Project Volume One Batch 2, is powerful with aromas of apricot, raisins, spices, dried fruits and butterscotch on the nose. The palate has an oily mouthfeel and brings flavours of raisins, dark fruits, peach, vanilla, light anise and spices. The finish is long with waves of spices, dry leather and warm vanilla, slowly transitioning to sweet fruits.
