We love mythical whisky stories. Legend goes that there once was a Wolfburn Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, in Thurso, to be more precise. It fell apart and was forgotten. Forgotten, you say? Until it was built up from scratch again, of course. In 2011, Wolfburn openend its door again, in memory of the long lost and fabeled distillery of the 1800s. They started distilling in 2013. It uses the same stream — the Wolf Burn — as a source of water. This Wolfburn Japan Exclusive II came out to only 500 bottles. Why Japan only? According to the distillery founder, Japanese whisky enthusiasts were among the first to visit the new distiller. This bottle is bottled as a ‘domo arigato’.
