Worthy Park is the oldest currently operating distillery in Jamaica with a history stretching all the way back to 1741. In all that time though the distillery has only been owned by four families, with the Clarke family being at the helm since 1918. The cane fields, the sugar factory and the distillery are all located on the same site, so every drop of rum comes straight from the fields and into the glass. The distillery turned off the stills in the early 1960s after an oversupply of Jamaican rum (apparently that was a bad thing?) but the distillery got a second lease on life in 2005 when a brand new distillery was built. This rum was distilled just 2 years later in 2007 and bottled by the famous Italian bottler High Spirits. A very worthy (hehehe) addition to their brand for sure!
