Writers’ Tears Cask Strength 2020 is the 10th annual release in the Writers’ Tears series from the Walsh Whiskey Distillery. Striving to recreate the fabled 19th century whiskey that writers such as Oscar Wilde and James Joyce may have enjoyed, Writers’ Tears is made by marrying aged pot still and single malt whiskeys. The Writers’ Tears series was launched in 2011 and its annual releases are always highly acclaimed. This 2020 release matured in bourbon barrels and was bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 54.5%. 3000 individually numbered bottles of Writers’ Tears Cask Strength 2020 have been released in total, 1500 for the USA market and 1500 for the rest of the world. It comes in a well crafted, wooden box.
