Yamazaki was built back in 1923 and was the first Japanese malt whisky distillery. Founded by Shinjiro Torii, his dream was to create a whisky that was authentically Japanese and is perfectly at harmony with nature. The location he chose is perfect for this. It sits at the intersection of three rivers, in a misty valley between Mt. Tennozan and Mt. Otokoyama. Here the water is some of the softest in all of Japan which makes it perfect for whisky. Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 has a nose of honey, vanilla and a layer of delicate smoke. The palate is creamy and shows honey, blueberries, smoke and oak. The finish glows with ginger, vanilla and caramel. This fine Japanese whisky is a strictly limited edition drop so you’d better grab it fast!
