Seychellois Rum

The Seychelles is a remote island nation off the coast of East Africa, consisting of 115 islands. The largest and most inhabited island is Mahé. Here, on the site of an 18th-century tropical spice plantation, you can find the Trois Frères Distillery, opened in February 2002 by the brothers Bernard and Richard d’Offay. With over two centuries of Seychellois family heritage in their back pocket, the brothers began their quest to produce a uniquely Seychellois rum. The first release of Takamaka dark rum, named for a local bay on the island, came not long after. The Trois Frères Distillery is the first, and so far only, commercial rum producer in the Seychelles.
