Strathisla Distillery

Strathisla is the oldest continuously operating distillery in Speyside. It was founded in 1786 as the Milltown Distillery by George Taylor and Alexander Milne. The distillery was purchased by MacDonald Ingram & Co. in 1823, and again sold to William Longmore in 1830. The distillery flourished under Longmore, and in 1870 it got its current name of Strathisla. In 1950, Strathisla was acquired by James Barclay of Chivas Brothers. It was the first distillery owned by Chivas Brothers, and today its malt is still at the heart of all Chivas Regal blends.
