Tamdhu Distillery

The Tamdhu distillery was established in 1896 by a consortium of whisky blenders, led by William Grant. The building was designed by famous distillery architect Charles Doig (but, remarkably, Tamdhu is one of the few distilleries without Doig’s iconic pagoda roof). The distillery was mothballed several times throughout its history, most recently in 2009. Ian Macleod Distillers acquired the Tamdhu distillery in 2011, and production resumed in 2013.
