The Benchmark brand was introduced by Seagram in 1968. It was originally produced at the Four Roses Distillery. Production switched to Buffalo Trace when Sazerac took over the brand in 1989, and today the bourbon is known as McAfee’s Benchmark after early settler Hancock McAfee. This 1980s decanter bottle of Benchmark Premium Bourbon was bottled at 80 proof and exported for the Japanese market.
