This 25-year-old Linkwood single malt was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Distillery Labels series. The range celebrates the long-standing relationship Gordon & MacPhail has with many Scottish distilleries and showcases historical label designs. In the mid-20th century, the majority of a distillery’s production was used in blends. Back then, Gordon & MacPhail produced the only official single malt bottlings for these distilleries. The Linkwood distillery, located on the outskirts of Elgin in Speyside, is surrounded by a beautiful reservoir that’s the home of ducks and swans. As the legend goes, superstitious distillery manager Roderick Mackenzie believed the environment to be so important that he refused to change a single thing. Even spiderwebs couldn’t be removed, just in case it would negatively affect the whisky. While the cobwebs have since been removed, the distillery still takes great care to maintain the high quality of its whisky.
