This Old Taylor 86 Proof was bottled in 1970 (according to the code on the front label, and front labels never lie). It was exported for the Italian market, as Italians loved, loved loooved bourbon in those days. A lot of the juice was made to be exported to Europe. This bourbon whiskey made during the golden days of the National Distiller’s owned Old Taylor distillery, named after Kentucky Colonel E.H. Taylor. The distillery was an actual castle! The brand was sold to Beam in the 1980s and is now owned by Buffalo Trace. Tasting this dusty brand next to the new recipe is highly recommended, as they are both pretttty tasty whiskeys!
