Springbank’s heavily peated malt, first distilled in 1973, is named after the nearby Longrow distillery, which operated between 1824 and 1896. When Longrow closed, the Mitchell family bought the distillery’s buildings. One of Longrow’s surviving warehouses is still used by Springbank as a bottling hall. Longrow 23 Years Old Limited Release 2022 is a rare single cask release of Longrow. The whisky aged for 23 years in a single refill sherry butt, and was bottled in April 2022 at 58.1%. Just 546 bottles were produced.
