Uitvlugt 32 Years Old The Colours Of Rum Edition 3 1989 is a single cask rum from the legendary closed Uitvlugt distillery in Guyana, bottled by Wealth Solutions for their The Colours of Rum range, which showcases the diversity in the world of rum. The rum was distilled in October 1989 in a double wooden pot still and matured for 32 years in ex-whisky cask #2. Just 222 bottles were filled in February 2022 at a cask strength of 64.1%. Uitvlugt 32 Years Old The Colours Of Rum Edition 3 1989 offers notes of burnt caramel, wood, fried pineapple and green apples. The Uitvlugt distillery was founded around 1750 and produced a heavy style rum. Over the years, Guyana’s many sugar estates started to close, and by 1970 there were only 11 sugar factories and 4 distilleries left. In 1975, the government started to privatise the remainder of them into one large distillery owned by the Guyana Liquor Corporation. Uitvlugt finally closed in 2000, and its stills were moved to the only remaining distillery in Guyana, the Diamond Distillery.
