A new release by new Irish single malt maker Waterford is always something to look out for. This Waterford Hook Head Edition 1.1 matured in a good number of different casks before being bottled. All barley comes from single farms that are all situated in different terroirs: parts of Ireland that all give a specific character to the barley. The big honcho behind Waterford is Mark Reynier, former CEO at Bruichladdich. Hook Head is a lighthouse on the southern shores of Ireland, which is overlooking the Atlantic. under the shadows of the Hook Head, farmer Martin Foley grows his barley for this amazing Waterford Hook Head Edition 1.1.
