Armagnac Année 1967 J. de Malliac is a rare vintage Armagnac, distilled in 1967 by J. de Malliac. We have not been able to figure out what the other numbers on the label mean. Most Armagnac producers didn’t bother with silly things such as marketing or clear labels back then. They didn’t have to—the quality of their product has always spoken for itself. J. de Malliac Armagnac was produced in the medieval Château de Malliac, located in the bastide town of Montréal du Gers. The influential de Malliac family settled in the region in the 12th century, and first began distilling Armagnac in the 16th century. In the early 20th century, the family of the current owners acquired the historic castle and developed their own brand of Armagnac. Today, the Château no longer produces Armagnac but is instead an event location.
